Abstract

The results on the filling of styrene-acrylic polymer coatings with kaolin and wollastonite, including mechanically activated in a planetary ball mill, are considered for their main operational characteristics. It is shown that the use of mechanically activated wollastonite in an amount of 20–30 wt % allows one to improve a number of technological and operational characteristics of paint and varnish coatings, including adhesive ones. The use of standardized methods for determining the water and moisture absorption, opacity, and adhesion strength allowed us to indirectly evaluate the features of the formation of the structure of polymeric styrene-acrylic coatings.
