Abstract

Hydrothermal synthesis and the single-crystal structure of a novel coordination polymer [Mn(C 6N 2H 2O 4)] with open framework are reported. The Mn 2+ ion center is in the distorted octahedron coordination environment. O(2b), O(1), O(3), and O(4b) atoms lie in the equatorial plane and two nitrogen atoms occupy axial sites. Both carboxyl groups of each ligand employ the same pattern to link metal ions to construct the one-dimensional channels along Y-axis. The effect of the ligand's symmetry on the formation of open frameworks is discussed. The TAG reveals the thermal stability of this compound is high and the EPR spectra show that there are some interactions between Mn⋯Mn.
