Abstract
The public must be made aware that in the event of an unfortunate contraceptive failure, very early advice is essential--for instance, when the menstrual period is only one or two days overdue. Educational programmes of family planning associations and clinics should include such advice and such organizations should inform the public that radioreceptorassay tests can accurately diagnose pregnancy even before that time. Medical operators who are concerned need to utilize technical advances such as those outlined in our research chart (Journal, August 12, 1978). As long ago as 1971, Dr. Simcock demonstrated that the integrity of the internal os can be preserved because only minimal dilatation is needed in such early cases.
