Abstract

The diamond film, TaC film, Ta-Si coating and Ta-Si-Al coating were developed on Ta sheet surface and their corrosion behavior were investigated in an equimolar NaCl-KCl melt at 850℃ in air, additionally, their corrosion behavior were concluded. The diamond film could prevent the corrosion mediums at beginning, while had no benefit in later period due to the corrosion product CO2 having no protective ability. The TaC film has good corrosion resistance mainly because of its low activity. The corrosion of Ta-Si and Ta-Si-Al coating could form continuous SiO2 amorphous film on surface to protect the un-corroded material.
