Abstract

In this paper, the effect of strain-induced martensitic transformation on mechanical properties is studied based on a developed TI model coupled with mixed hardening law of four phases and anisotropic yield function. Compared with H220BD and DDQ, TRIP steel shows excellent mechanical properties. Stress–strain curve and martensitic volume fraction during deformation process present the developed model is suitable to describe the deformation behaviors of TRIP steel. Single phase mechanical properties indicate high necking strain of martensite results in the improvement of the formability of TRIP steel. Hardening rate and strain hardening exponent with TRIP effect illuminate the mechanical properties are improved by martensitic transformation. The gradient of mechanical parameters describes the influence of martensitic transformation on mechanical properties of TRIP steel further.
