Abstract

The physical behaviour of poly(ethylene glycol)s, stimulators of enzyme production in the Phanerochaete chrysosporium shaken culture, was studied. Polymers were partly degraded during sterilisation. In spite of that, lignin peroxidase activity decreased by less than 15%, since the degradation products retain some stimulating ability.
