Abstract

Using FX-4000 strain unit, the apoptosis of Human oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma KB Cells that underwent different mechanical strain were studied. Flow Cytometer was adopted to investigate the apoptosis of Human oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma KB Cells. Experimental results indicated that cell apoptosis rate increased significantly after KB cells were subjected to squarewave with 10% or 15% elongation at frequency 0.5Hz for 24h, the cell apoptosis rate of squarewave (15% elongation at frequency 0.5Hz for 24h) group increased significantly compared with squarewave (10% elongation at frequency 0.5Hz for 24h) group. It was indicated that cyclic stretch could promote the apoptosis of KB cells, the waveform and elongation amplitude play important roles in promoting apoptosis.
