Abstract
1. Measurement has been made of the absorption of electromagnetic radiation of wavelengths in the 0.8–2 mm range, working with aqueous solutions of DMSO, DMPhA, acetonitrile, dioxane, and acetone, and covering the entire range of relative concentrations. 2. Departures from absorption additivity increase in the order: dioxane, acetonitrile, acetone, DMSO, DMPhA. 3. Hydration numbers have been calculated for the various solvents
