Abstract

The effect of source feedback in a GaAa MESFET is studied by absorbing this feedback into the remainder of the circuit model. The behaviour of the perturbed or new circuit elements is found analytically and numerical results are obtained. Implications of this analysis regarding the determination of circuit element values from s-parameter data are discussed. It is found that care must be exercised in the selection of a lumped constant element circuit model, this caveat being especially important at millimetre wove frequencies.
