Abstract

The inhibitive effect on the corrosion of aluminium in hydrochloric acid of Girard's T and P, oxalic, malonic and succinic acid hydrazides and acetophenone G-T was studied by thermometric and weight loss measurements. Adsorption of these hydrazine derivatives leads to the formation of a monolayer of the adsorbate on the metal surface. The results indicate that all the studied compounds can be classified with the weakly adsorbed substances except acetophenone G-T which is strongly adsorbed.
