Abstract

Salinity stress is a major environmental factor which adversely affects plant growth and development. Silicon (Si) is an abundant element which, when supplied to plants, increases tolerance to abiotic stresses, such as salinity and drought stress. This study aimed to investigate the roles of silicon (Si) in the amelioration of salinity in two tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill) cultivated varieties cv bacioty, a cherry type cultivar, and cv.
