Abstract

In polymer processing the combination of two melt streams (co-extrusion through a die) has become a very economical method of producing materials with unique properties. One of the main problems that arises in this process is that the interface between the two liquids can become irregular at high enough rates of flow leading to what is known as “melt fracture”.
