Abstract

AbstractIn this article, we aim to investigate the effect of relaxation processes on isotactic polypropylene filaments, that is stress relaxation and creep relaxation. In addition, variations of the fiber diameter during creep and relaxation are investigated using laser diffraction technique. Double‐image multiple‐beam technique and Pluta polarizing interference microscope are used to study the influence of relaxation on necking propagation. Micrographs and interference patterns are given for illustration.
