Abstract

Re-NiAl, Hf-NiAl and ReHf-NiAl coatings were fabricated and the interaction of Re and Hf was investigated. Re and Hf segregated together in ReHf-NiAl coating, and the co-precipitations phase in ReHf co-doped coating were verified as Hf5Re24 and Hf5Al3 after annealing. The formation of these precipitations further slowed down the growth rate of oxide scales. The dispersion and refinement of Hf by Re prevented the formation of spinel. The interaction mechanism of Re and Hf during annealing and oxidation process were discussed.
