Abstract

Severe rigid spinal deformity is often associated with respiratory impairment, which increased the risk of pulmonary complications following surgical correction. Improvement of the postoperative pulmonary function was regarded by surgeons as more important curative goal than curves correction. PVCR has been reported as much efficient for treatment of severe rigid spinal deformities, however, there were few research involved postoperative PFT changes. Severe rigid spinal deformity is often associated with respiratory impairment, which increased the risk of pulmonary complications following surgical correction.
