Abstract

Hering and Shepstone (1972) have demonstrated inhibition of root growth in Zea following ultrasonic iradiation similar to that found for Vicia faba (Bleaney and Oliver, 1972). They also refer to increased radiation damage for pulses of 2 ms (duty cycle 0·2) compared with continuous exposure at the same average power level.
