Abstract

The plasminogen activator and coagulation factor VIII responses to a standard intravenous dose of adrenaline and salbutamol in the presence or absence of a certain beta adrenoreceptor blockers (propranolol, alprenolol and practolol) were studied in three healthy volunteers. The results suggest that the catecholamine initiated release of plasminogen activator in man is associated with three distinct receptor sites; the factor VIII release with two.
