Abstract

Zinc sulfide powders that have been doped thermally with gallium are studied. The mechanisms of Ga diffusion in the ZnS powders are considered in relation to the packing density of the powders’ particles. To this end, some of the ZnS powders under study have been pressed into pellets. It is established that the doping of ZnS powders with Ga proceeds more efficiently if the powders have been compressed. The electroluminescence of ZnS doped with Ga is observed.
