Abstract

Abstract Pyrolysis of chlorophyll-a preheated at 250 °C has been carried out to investigate the precursor of 1-pristene often observed in pyrolysis products of kerogens. The 1-pristene/(phytadienes + phytene) ratio increased with increasing preheating time, suggesting the significance of the moiety derived from chlorophyll as the precursor of 1-pristene.
