Abstract

BaO.6Fe 2 O 3 hexaferrite nano-particle had been successful prepared byWet chemicalmethod using natrium hydroxide (NaOH) and tetramethyl-ammonium hydroxide (TMOH) precipitating reagent. Wet chemical method used in this research is co-precipitation method. Pahse identification of the sample was done using x-rays diffraction technique, and the microstructure of the sample was observed with Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), where as the magnetic properties change of the sample was measured using Vibrating SampleMagnetometer (VSM).Magnetic coercivity (H ci ) and remanence (σ r ) of BaO.6Fe 2 O 3 resulted by precipitation using TMOH was obtained about 5.1 kOe and 31.3 emu/gr is higher if compared with those of BaO.6Fe 2 O 3 precipitated with NaOH solution with Hci ≈ 4,56 kOe and dan σ r ≈ 27,2 emu/gr. High coercivity value caused by the size of the BaO.6Fe 2 O 3 particles synthesized using a TMOH solution was very fine. Higher sintering temperature, magnetic coercivity tends to fall due to the particle growth. Keywords: hexaferrite,Wet chemical, co-precipitation, coercivity, remanence.
