Abstract

Abstract Experiments reported in psychological journals demonstrate that recall is materially improved if a question is asked before information is presented. The finding is robust and holds for many different kinds of questions presented in various ways on diverse topics. This article presents experimental evidence that questions can lead to heightened recall of the brand names of advertised products.
