Abstract

Introduction: Patients with congestive heart failure (CHF) tend to resist lying in the left lateral decubitus position. We hypothesized that cardiac filling pressures (FP) from implanted devices could provide hemodynamic explanations for these observations. Methods: Seven subjects with implantable hemodynamic monitoring (IHM) devices were enrolled. The IHM acquired heart rate (HR) and FP data that consisted of RV systolic and diastolic pressures (RVSP, RVDP), as well as the estimated PA diastolic pressure (ePAD).
