Abstract

1. 1. The rate of surface tension lowering of 0.005 N sodium myristate, a hydrolyzable anionic surface-active agent, increases with increasing pH. 2. 2. The rate of surface tension lowering of 0.01 N dodecylamine hydrochloride, a hydrolyzable cationic surface-active agent, decreases with increasing pH. 3. 3. The rate of surface tension lowering for 0.005 N sodium dodecyl sulfate, a surfactant which does not hydrolyze, is independent of pH.
