Abstract

A double micro-ring resonator coupled in series is studied theoretically to realize electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). The effects of radii of micro-rings and the coupling coefficients between the micro-rings and waveguide are investigated on the generation of EIT. Transmitted powers into throughput and drop ports are analytically computed as a function of wavelength, coupling coefficients, and geometrical parameters. Analytical results indicate that EIT effect highly depends on the coupling coefficients and geometrical parameters of the system.
