Abstract

Given that mimicry of other’s behavior is considered as one of the training methods that have long been used in the context of education, nowadays, many studies have been conducted increasingly concerning mimicry as a scientific phenomenon and i various aspects. Recent studies have also proved that no conscious behavioral mimicry can have a significant effect on emotional relationships and can increase the loving relationship between two persons with behavioral mimicry. The role of no conscious behavioral mimicry is characterized on establishing the emotional relationship between two persons and its importance. Undoubtedly, the basis of supplementation for establishing emotional relationship between the therapist and the client is an important step in counselling relationships through which the therapist and people referred to the counselling center can feel the security and confidence toward counselling centers. This study aimed to determine the role of nonverbal behavioral mimicry on establishing emotional relationships between the therapist and those women who referred to counselling centers of Zarand city. The statistical population of the study consisted of women who referred to the counselling centers of Zarand city and the statistical sample of the present study comprised of 60 women referred to the counselling centers of Zarand city who have been selected among those who referred to counselling centers of Zarand city using available sampling method. Attitude towards research questionnaire was used for data collection and descriptive statistics (central indexes and dispersion) and descriptive statistics (T-test of two independent group) were used for data analysis. The statistical analysis revealed that the nonverbal behavioral mimicry had an significant effect on establishing emotional relationships between the therapist and the client.
