Abstract

We reports a molecule-dynamics study for a liquid in which the molecules interact with a pair potential consisting of a central Lennard-Jones plus non-axial quadrupole-quadrupole ( Q xx ≠ Q yy ) parts. Thermodynamic properties (configurational energy, pressure, and specific heat), mean-squared torque, and center—center correlation functions are calculated. The results obtained are compared with a recently developed perturbation theory for non-axial molecules.
