Abstract

Objective To explore the effects of music combined with strength exercise on rehabilitation in patients with Knee Osteoarthritis (KOA). Methods A total of 60 patients with KOA were randomly divided into group A and group B with 30 patients in each group.Music combined strength training and pure strength training for 8 weeks. The WOMAC questionnaire scores, knee extensor muscle strength and walking time of 10 meters before and after training were compared between the two groups. Results The WOMAC questionnaire score and the peak torque of extensor genicular muscles were significantly improved after training in both groups, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The ten meters walking time of group A significantly decreased after intervention, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). There was no significant difference before and after training in group B. After training, WOMAC questionnaire scores of patients in group A were compared with those in group B with the peak moment of extensor genicular muscle, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusions Music combined strength training program in knee arthritis severity, knee extensor muscle strength and walking speed improvement effect is significantly better than the simple strength training program, so music combined strength training program is worth promoting in clinical and community rehabilitation work. Key words: Music exercise therapy; Strength training; Knee osteoarthritis; Muscular strength
