Abstract

Dielectric constant /spl epsi//sub s/ and electrical conductivity of dielectric liquids dissolved water have been studied from a view point of effects of functional group binding water molecules. In this experiment, the aromatic liquids such as a nitrobenzene are used. From the results, it is found that in the case of dielectric liquids binding the electron acceptor base and also dissolving the bound water, the /spl epsi//sub s/ and the conductivity of liquids become very high but the conductivity is independent of /spl epsi//sub s/, and that in the case of liquids with the electron donor base, the conductivity increases with /spl epsi//sub s/ but its value is smaller than that with electron acceptor.
