Abstract

The quantities of free amino acids present in the central and peripheral area of tubers of cv. Gari were measured by column chromatography at a precise stage of sprouting two months after harvest. They were generally present in higher quantities in the central part. Mineral nutrition of the plant by the method of Systematic Variations exerted a significant effect on the quantities of free amino acids in the daughter tubers and on their fresh weight.
