Abstract

The study aimed to assess the efficacy of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program in reducing depressive levels among mothers of children with Down syndrome. This study was an experimental study. The study was conducted between November 2021 and March 2022 at the Private Special Education and Rehabilitation Centers. It was found that there was a statistically significant difference in the Beck Depression Inventory-II total score averages between the experimental group and the control group in the in-group tests. The mothers of children with Down Syndrome who did not receive the intervention reported an increase in depressive symptoms.
