Abstract

We focus on examining whether video learning media are effective in amping up math learning outcomes of ninth graders at SMP Negeri 4 Gorontalo investigated based on learning motivation. The research was a quasi-experiment using a treatment by level 2 x 2 design and two-way analysis and the Tukey test. The results demonstrated that the math learning outcomes of students with high learning motivation using video learning were 17.16, and that of students with high learning motivation using PowerPoint learning media was 16.06. The test using a 5% significance level and dk = 134 exhibited tcount > ttable. For α = 0.05, tcount = 2.68 and ttable = 2.03. Accordingly, video learning media were more effective than PowerPoint in augmenting student learning outcomes with high learning motivation.
