Abstract

Transient photoconductivity measurements have been made in vacuum-evaporated thin films of Se 80Te 20. It has been observed that the rise of the photocurrent shows an anomalous behaviour. The photocurrent passes through a maximum before attaining the steady state. This anomalous behaviour has been studied at different temperatures by shining monochromatic light of different wavelengths and intensities. The results have been explained in terms of a recombination mechanism in this material.
