Abstract

The effect of (Li,Ce) substitution at the A-site on the properties of Na0.25K0.25Bi4.5Ti4O15 (NKBT)-based ceramics was investigated. The piezoelectric coefficient d33 of the [(Na0.5K0.5)Bi]0.42(LiCe)0.04[]0.04Bi4Ti4O15 ceramic was found to be 25 pC N−1, the highest value of the NKBT-based ceramics, and almost twice the d33 values of pure NKBT ceramics (∼13 pC N−1). The thickness coupling factor kt was found to be 20%, which, together with the high TC (∼615 °C) and stable piezoelectric properties, suggests that (Li,Ce)-modified NKBT-based materials are promising candidates for high-temperature applications.
