Its effects are so powerful and beneficial in the case of the heart of the hypothyroid patient that its therapeutic value in other kinds of heart disease should be determined. This will require a careful analysis of the pharmacology of thyroxine, to which these observations are a brief introduction. This seems to be the obverse of the therapeutic induction of hypothyroidism in heart disease that is now being advised.Death during the first few days of the treatment of myxedema with desiccated thyroid...Bibliography1.
