Abstract

The study aimed to evaluated the effect of Lactobacillus salivarius on performance local duck in starter period infected by Salmonella pullorum.The research used the completely randomized design with 4 treaments, 4 replications and 10 units. The treatments were P0 = Control, P1 = Salmonella pullorum, P2 = Probiotics Lactobacillus salivarius, P3 = Salmonella pullorum + probiotics Lactobacillus salivarius. The parameters were feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion ratio. The analyzed variance (ANOVA) and further tests performed Duncan’s Multiple Areas used to obtained the data. The Result showed that the body weight gain of local duck in starter period with given probiotics Lactobacillus salivarius were higher (p<0.05) but the feed consumption and feed conversion ratio were lower (p<0,05) compared to other treatments. The conclusion was the local duck in starter period with given probiotics Lactobacillus salivarius showed the best performance.
