Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the impact of feeding fattening pigs with krill meal added mixture at lowered chitin content to about 50% on the physiochemical properties of depot fat. The obtained results show, that feeding pigs with complete mixture with krill meal added at lowered chitin content resulted in the decreased amount of saturated fatty acids and increased amount of unsaturated fatty acids in back fat and suet.
