Abstract

The detection of embryo mosaicism by preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) has affected how embryos are categorized or ranked for embryo transfer. The level or proportion of aneuploid cells, type of mosaicism and the chromosome affected must be considered before the full recommendation of a mosaic embryo transfer. Studies and recommendations have preferred the transfer of an embryo with segmental chromosome mosaicism versus whole chromosomal mosaicism, lower levels of mosaicism versus high, and mosaic monosomy over mosaic trisomy due to the increased risks of loss and poor outcomes.
