Abstract
ABSTRACT The initial body weight of the rat will influence the subsequent ovarian and uterine weight responses following treatment with gonadotrophins. This effect cannot be overcome by straightforward transformation of ovarian weight data in terms of unit body weight since there is a significant interaction between body weight and hormonal treatment. No relationship between body weight and the occurrence of follicular haemorrhage, vaginal opening or ovulation could be demonstrated.
