Abstract

1. 1. A method for delivering an anigen by the inhalant route is described. 2. 2. Experiments using ragweed pollen powder and fluid antigen, and horse dander powder and fluid antigen by the inhalant route failed to produce satisfactory symptoms of anaphylaxis in guinea pigs. 3. 3. The injection of thyroxin did not lower the threshold of susceptibility to anaphylaxis of guinea pigs to inhalant exposure. 4. 4. Although primary intravenous injection of guinea pigs with fluid antigen was performed, inhalant exposure after a suitable incubation period failed to give rise to symptoms of anaphylaxis.
