Abstract

SummaryA pilot study was performed to examine the possible trauma incurred on the pudendal nerves by surgical manipulation during simple abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy. Pudendal nerve conduction latency time was chosen as a non-invasive test, and was performed on 10 patients before and 6 weeks after hysterectomy. No difference was observed after surgery. Pudendal nerve injury does not appear to be involved in bladder dysfunction after hysterectomy.
