Abstract

Summary Prolonged hydrocortisone treatment of primary human amnion culture increased the resistance of cell to cell and cell to glass bonds to trypsin and versene. Hydrocortisone treated amnion cells were also more resistant to solubilization by lauryl sulfate than the untreated control. These experiments indicate that hydrocortisone alters certain characteristics of the cell membrane.
