Abstract

A gym ball is a physical therapy ball that helps pregnant women in lowering the baby's head that can be used in various positions. One of the movements is by sitting on the ball and rocking to make a sense of comfort and help lower the baby's head using gravity while increasing the release of endorphins because the elasticity and curvature of the ball stimulate the receptors in the pelvis that are responsible for secreting endorphins. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the gym ball technique on the lowering of the fetus in the third trimester of primigravida. This research is pre-experimental design research with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample was 10 Primigravida TM III mothers, 34 weeks of gestation, which were taken using a total sampling technique. The analytical test used is the paired t-test. Based on the paired t-test statistical test, it was found that p-value = 0.000 with a significant value = 0.05 because p < 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05) it can be concluded that there is an effect of the gym ball technique on the decrease in the lower part of the fetus in Mother Primigravida III Trimester. It is recommended that the gym ball technique be used as a good and safe exercise choice for pregnant women to improve physical health, reduce anxiety and help the process of lowering the fetal head.
