Abstract

This research aims to study the effect of group reality therapy on increase of resiliency and self-control of women having disabled children in Arak City. The research was practical and experimental (including pre-test, post-test and control group). The statistical society included mothers having disabled children in Arak City that 30 individuals were appointed randomly and divided into experimental and control group. Covariance analysis was used for results of statistical analysis and for pre-test; assumptions of covariance analysis including normality of equality of variances and regression line slope were applied. Then in experiment group, involvement of group reality therapy was done weekly for 8 sessions. After the termination of the course, the mentioned test was performed again for both groups as post-test in order to evaluate the change of dependent variable (control of emotions and resiliency). Results of statistical analysis of two-factor variance analysis were confirmed by hypothesis of the research and it was found that group consulting in a cognitive-behavioral manner based on reality therapy led to increase of resiliency, positive emotion, reduction of anger, depression and nervousness of mothers having disabled children.
