Abstract

A series of noncontact magnetic measurements on high-quality single crystals of YlBazCu307-, indicate that the superconducting properties are those of a conventional anisotropic superconductor. However, the magnetic properties are profoundly affected by flux pinning. We develop a classical, thermally activated flux flow model which we use to extract Hcl from the decay of the remnant magnetization at low temperature and to explain the logarithmic frequency dependence and the curvature seen in the apparent Hcz near Tc.
