Abstract

This is the second case report in the literature of straight back syndrome with a systolic thrill and a diastolic murmur. The additional feature which may be of tuture diagnostic aid is the accentuation of the systolic murmur and thrill and the appearance of an early diastolic murmur upon external compression of the chest wall. We have suggested a possible explanation for these findings, but additional catheterizations are required for confirmation.
