Abstract
ABSTRACT The purpose of this article is to examine whether disability acceptance mediates the association between discrimination and life satisfaction of people with disabilities. The Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled (PSED), a dataset consisting of a nationally representative sample of individuals with disabilities in South Korea was used. We found that discrimination had a negative effect on the life satisfaction of people with disabilities. We also found that discrimination had a negative influence on disability acceptance. And finally, this study found a partially mediating effect of disability acceptance between discrimination and the life satisfaction of people with disabilities. Implications for practice and policy are discussed.
