Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine how the Exercise Stress of University Taekwondo athletes affects Drop out Intention in effect and the Mediating effect of social support. The collegiate athletes in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and South Chungcheong provinces were studied with a standardized questionnaire. total 237 of them were used for the final analysis, excluding those 13 lacking consistency in response. For measurement and analysis, SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0 programs were used to assess the frequency analysis, skewness, kurtosis, credibility, correlation analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, measurement model verification, structural model verification, and mediating effect verification. First, the Exercise Stress had a positive effect on drop out intention. Second, the Exercise Stress had a negative effect on the social support. Third, the drop out intention had a negative effect on the social support. Fourth, social support had negative mediating effect in relation to exercise stress and dropout intention. As a result, there was a mediating effect of social support. This conclusion shows that : Therefore, this study is expected to be used as a basic data that will be used to reduce the dropout intention and stress of University Taekwondo athletes.
