Abstract

Background: This study aimed to determine of effects of emotional intelligence skills on nurses' job stress in Psychiatry units (2015). Methods: in this semi experimental study, the study population consisted of Roozbeh Psychiatric Hospital nurses.76 persons were selected, that selected, that is based on input standards and calculation of volume sample. Data were collected with Bar-on emotional intelligence and karasek Job Content questionnaire. Results: Results showed that the mean emotional intelligence Score was 329/72± 29/91in intervention group, before intervention, which respectively reached to 354/51± 37/27after implementation of the intervention and this difference was Significant in intervention group (p=0/003). The mean job stress Score was 95/65± 14/54 in intervention group, before intervention, which respectively reached to 84/37± 21/05 after implementation of the intervention and this difference was Significant in intervention group (p=0/001). Conclusion: the result revealed that emotional intelligence skill training can reduced nurse's job stress in department of Psychiatry.
