Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effect of digital training system on convergence insufficient asthenopia. Methods Eighteen patients with convergence insufficient asthenopia aged 18 to 35 years were divided in 2 groups in a randomized clinical trial, separately treated by digital training system and pen nib training system for 12 weeks. The author tested the point near convergence and fusional convergence before and after the training, with the data collected trom CISS convergence insufficient questionnaire. Treatment effects were compared at last. Results The author found that after treated, both groups, near convergence points became nearer and fusional convergence increased significantly. The results of digital training system were better than those of pen nib training system. Asthenopia was significantly reduced in digital training system but not in pen nib training system. Conelusions No matter in subjective assessment or convergence function test, digital training system is better than pen nib training system in treating convergence insufficient asthenopia. Key words: Asthenopia; Convergence insufficient; CISS questionnaire score
