Abstract

1.1. Glucose, maltose and galactose, in media, were compared regarding their effects on cell constituents and growth of Trichomonas gallinae.2.2. Cells grown in galactose contained more glycogen and protein than cells grown in maltose. Cells from glucose medium contained the least glycogen and protein.3.3. Glycogen and protein contents were highest for galactose cells throughout the growth cycle compared to other two sugars.4.4. Glycogen from galactose-grown cells contained no galactose.5.5. Cells in galactose medium grew slower and attained less total numbers than cells in glucose medium.
